Now that we’ve discussed gifts for her, gifts for him, gifts for kids and even gifts for yours truly, let’s talk about ways to give back! One of the most important things we can give now and throughout the year is a little something back to our community, our country and our planet as a whole. In this post, I’ve assembled a short list of super easy ways to help make the world a better place.
A Happier New Year
By far the easiest method of giving back and an amazing way to ensure that good is done in the year to come is donating directly to a charity of your choice. You’re already online so that means you’re just a few clicks away from donating a little or a lot to a cause close to your heart. Need some suggestions? Try St. Jude, StandUp2Cancer or the American Diabetes Association.
Warmest Wishes
Now through January 23rd, Burlington Coat Factory is hosting their annual Warm Coats & Warm Hearts Drive. Simply drop off a new or gently used coat at your local Burlington Coat Factory store and they’ll see to it that your warmth is spread to someone in need. As a thank you, Burlington will give you 10% off your next purchase.
Secret Santa
If you fancy a more personal giving experience, select a little something – or a sleigh-full of somethings – and bring it to your local toy drive. Toy drives are a super simple way of putting a smile on the faces of kids who might otherwise go without gifts during the holidays. Head over to ToysforTots.org to find a drop off location near you.
A Christmas Dinner
Or breakfast. Or lunch. Regardless of the type of meal, giving the gift of sustenance to a family in need is as easy as grocery shopping for your own family. Visit feedingamerica.org to find your local food bank and discover how to get involved.
Please comment below and tell me about your favorite charity or cause and any way – big or small – that you plan to give back this holiday season. As always, thanks for reading! I truly appreciate every reader, every like and every comment you guys leave. It’s so fun to know you’re out there! Meet me back here on Monday for more Blogmas posts and until then have a wonderful weekend! Xoxo.
