Hi guys!! It’s Wednesday today but the earliest you’ll be reading this is Friday because my blog is currently undergoing some big changes and I’m hoping to have it back up by Friday night. I really hope you enjoy the new layout as much as I do!! It took a bit of elbow grease and quite a few hours but I’m officially self-hosted and redecorated. Lots of thanks to Danny (Ella’s dad) for aiding me (read: doing nearly everything) in pulling it all together! I still have a large list of small changes I’d like to make but the major stuff is out of the way. And now onto today’s post!
This will be my third monthly roundup kinda post in which I read a few blog posts, write a little bit about each and share them on my blog. If you haven’t read the others, feel free to check them out here and here. I’ve tweaked the title of this series a bit from “Five Posts I Read Tonight” to “Posts I Love” because I think it’s a bit cleaner/clearer, it allows me the flexibility to feature more or less posts each month and I can truly make it a monthly roundup rather than an all-in-one-night thing. As always, I would absolutely love it if you could read at least one or two of these lovely posts and perhaps leave a little comment for their authors. Here they are…
This Time Next Year Tag & 2017 Goal Checkup | Beauty Life Mom
In this post, my blogger friend Jen shares her newly set goals as well as a review of her previously set goals including healthy eating habits and how she continues to boost her blog game. I’ll let you read the specifics but what I will say after reading Jen’s post is I’d really like a ceramic pineapple right now and I am so down for a good declutter! In case you don’t get a chance to read this post, I’m happy to pass along the info that Jen (along with Mia from Confidently Curly and Jay from Blissful Beauty Bird – love you girls!) runs the StatesideBlogBabes Twitter account which hosts a chat every Monday at 4PM PST/7PM EST. Make sure to give them a follow and get chatting!
Life as an Introvert in an Extroverted World | The Crimson Cardigan
I absolutely love this post in part because Ashlynn is an amazing blogger but also because it really hits home for me as a fellow introvert. The best part about this post is how well Ashlynn owns her introverted nature and rather than allowing herself to feel ashamed or inadequate, she employs a get-in-where-you-fit-in attitude toward life and specifically the working world. Via this post, you can receive an emailed list of more than 30 careers that you can pursue from within the comfort zone of your own home. Head over to Ashlynn’s blog now and satisfy your inner introverted entrepreneur!
Dating Younger Men Who Bemoan “Pushing 30” | New York Cliche
This post had me literally laughing out loud. Everything from Mary Lane’s perfectly placed gifs to her probably medically accurate description of a man’s reaction to a woman speaking about her age made this post one of my all-time favorites in life. Personally, I have a thing for older guys but that’s based on absolutely nothing and doesn’t take into account the fact that I know men well into their fifties who don’t have their lives together. Anyway, if you’re craving a brilliant bit of social commentary freshly squeezed from a dating anecdote that’s well-wrapped in witty goodness, Mary Lane’s post is for you!
The Secret Ingredient to Making the Perfect Tea | Tea with B
I read this post with tea in hand and enjoyed every drop of Becca’s critique of two tasty tea blends from PlumDeluxe. If you’re a tea lover, be sure to check out Becca’s other reviews as she has so many, all of which are extremely detailed and descriptive. If you’re not into tea, Becca still has you covered with helpful beauty reviews, beautifully-photographed travel posts and more. If I ever make it to New York, I’ll definitely reference Becca’s blog for great locations to visit – especially the vegan creperie she wrote about in this post!
That’s all for today! There will be another new post on Friday as I return to my regular schedule of posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The photo credit for this post goes to Sadie (she’s 3!!) for this lovely sidewalk + chalk picture she snapped earlier in the week. Also, a huge shout out to everyone who was so super supportive via Twitter while I took my little mental-health-break-turned-blog-renovation-break the past couple weeks. Having you lovely ladies and gentlemen in my corner means the world to me! Xoxo.

Nicky, thank you so much for featuring me in this post. You are way too kind. I’m glad you really liked my post about introverts and unite with me! We get so much negativity from people who don’t understand, so hopefully this helps change that.
Congratulations on going self-hosted and updating! I love how it looks, and can’t wait to see more of what you have in store!

Oh my goodness. This is ever so sweet of you to not only say such nice things about my post, but to include it all here in this wonderful roundup of other awesome posts! If there is one thing I love more than NYC, it’s making people LOL. Really, knowing my writing is reaching someone makes my day 🙂 Thank you so, so much!
