Talk about resisting temptation! After receiving this shipment from Sephora on September 7th, I abstained from using all but one of these lip products so that when I got around to writing this post I could give you the freshest photos and first impressions possible. Nearly a month later, I’m finally properly unboxing the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip Kit, swatching everything inside and sharing my thoughts with you. I really hope you enjoy this post as much as I’m enjoying the fact that I actually get to try these products after all this time! Also, a big thanks to everyone who voted in my poll on Twitter which helped me decide to spend my Sephora gift card on this lip kit. You are the real MVPs!
If you’re not yet familiar with the Give Me Some Nude Lip Kit, it comes with six nude lip products including a gloss/lip plumper, three traditional lipsticks and two matte liquid lipsticks – one of which is full-sized rather than sample. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect my-lips-but-better lip product for a long time so I’m hoping this kit gives me that or at least a few new nude shades that compliment my skin tone. Before we get into swatches and descriptions though, let me take a moment to say the packaging is adorable. I almost wish the product photos were printed on a paper band or something rather than the lip-shaped box itself so the box could be used for storing other things after its originals contents are removed but oh well! Onto the review…
This is my very first ever arm swatch and I hope it has your approval!! Aren’t these colors amazing?! BTW, that seemingly misplaced splotch between the Ciate and Makeup Forever swatches isn’t a mess-up, just a birthmark!
Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly
Although I’m not sure I ever see a dramatic difference in the size of my lips when I use them, I’ve loved Buxom’s lip plumper products since I was in my early twenties because they smell amazing (like vanilla frosting I’d say) and they do make your lips look lovely. This particular lip cream has become my go-to for school runs and errands when I want to look put together but I’m not trying to spend several minutes perfecting my lip look. The only downside? My hair sticks to this stuff like glue when it’s windy out. Is that a deal breaker? Not at all!
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Rum Punch
This is the lightest shade of them all so I was a little afraid it would give me a super washed out look but it ended up working beautifully (in my opinion). It doesn’t match my actual lip color by any means but it does give that true nude appearance if that makes any sense. I can see myself wearing this on days when I’m craving a fresh-faced, natural makeup kinda look. Also, the packaging for this one is really cute as it stands out from the rest with its marbled blue print and gold “tarte” text.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig
I currently have Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick in the shade Lolita and I love it BUT I think I love this color even more as it has a nice pinky tone to it as opposed to Lolita’s more orangey shade. Color-wise, I think this one is the closest to my personal preference when it comes to what I’d wear most often. It also gets bonus points for staying power. When I attempted to wash the swatches off my arm earlier, this one was the last to go – after two washes with soap and one rub down with alcohol – and it’s still lingering as I write this hours later!
Ciate London Liquid Velvet Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bitter Sweet
Although it doesn’t really look like it from the outside, this one dries to a purply color that I was admittedly frightened of at first. While I’m still not sure if this shade “goes with” my skin tone, I do think it’s lovely and I’d definitely wear it often especially for autumn. I’ll let you be the deciding vote (make sure to comment below!) on whether or not this color is for me. Formula wise, it’s creamy and light and dries down to a nice opaque matte.
Makeup Forever Artist Rouge in C211
This one is so highly pigmented and the color is so gorgeous that I knew I was in love before it even touched my lips. Although I may wear it less as it’s the boldest of the bunch, it’s probably my favorite of the six. The scent and application of this lipstick remind me of lipsticks I’d steal from my mom when I was little which made me love it even more! Are there any makeup products that bring back fond memories for you??
Bite Beauty Multistick in Brioche
This is another very pigmented shade and it’s a perfect nude for the current season – so much so that I’m actually wearing it (along with a cozy sweater) as I type this post. I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of this one all autumn long! And speaking of a lot of wear, Bite Beauty’s multisticks are meant to do triple duty as a lipstick, blush or eyeshadow. I’ve only tried it on my lips so far so I can’t speak for its other abilities but it definitely does its job as a pretty awesome lip product.
Now that we’ve discussed individual products, let’s talk about this kit as whole…
THE GOOD
Its Price | The price of this kit (currently $28 on sephora.com) is amazing for the amount of product you get along with the fact that there’s such a solid variety inside!
Its Variety | No two shades in this kit are the same and – more importantly in my book – none of the colors are super light which I think is an important inclusive element for a lip product sample pack!
Its Quality | All of these brands are beloved by many a beauty enthusiast so it’s no surprise that their products are on point from formula to packaging!
THE BAD
I’d really like to reuse the packaging (Christmas gift box perhaps??) but alas the permanently printed-onto-the-box product photos prevent that from happening. Other than that, I can’t think of anything I didn’t care for about this kit!
THE OVERALL
I’m really happy with this purchase because I enjoy every single color and every last product in this kit. I’m already ogling its eye-catching counterpart, the Give Me Some Bold Lip kit, or perhaps its more extravagant cousin, the Give Me More Lip kit because they look lovely as well. All in all, the Give Me Some Nude Lip kit has me wearing a smile (get it?!) and I would definitely recommend it as a way to get your nude lip sample on for a reasonable amount of money.
Thank you so much for reading!! As always, I hope you enjoyed this post and – pretty please – don’t forget to share it if you did! Also, if you’ve not yet read my recent review of the L’Oreal Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender, feel free to check it out here! xx

This is such a thoughtful review! I loved your arm swatch’s and I also really love how you snapped a image with each product on so we should see how it works on your skin tone!

Thank you Jen!! And lol! Thank you so much but I owe that all to makeup. My skin isn’t too bad but it’s definitely acne prone and I have some acne scars. 🙁 When I’m feeling brave I’ll post some makeup-free photos! I hope you’re doing well today! xx
