So, I know they say “happy wife, happy life” – and “they” are certainly not wrong – but happy kids are kinda just as critical. When my kids are smiling and content and not battling it out like they’re card-carrying members of some not-so-secret sibling fight club, I am one happy mama and life feels pretty darn good. Cosmic Kids Yoga is one of those things-that-make-them-happy-which-in-turn-make-me-happy because I know my two littlest humans (my oldest, Ella, has graduated to regular-aged yoga with me!) are having a blast, staying active and learning something new all at the same time. Cosmic Kids’ collection of yoga practices, created by Jaime Amor and her hubby Martin, combine activity with adventure to make invaluable video content that benefits kids and parents alike. Here are three reasons why I absolutely love it…
1 | It’s Tailored to Kids
First things first, each Cosmic Kids video is extremely engaging with so many great themes including Frozen, Minecraft, Trolls, Star Wars, Pokemon and Harry Potter as well as an incredible selection of children’s stories. This kid-friendly format ensures that they’re having fun + staying focused as they hone their yoga skills. Among Hendrix and Sadie’s faves is the “Super Yoga” series which is a fast-paced video game-style practice. Check it out here!
2 | It’s Yoga + More
In addition to yoga, Cosmic Kids has a whole series of guided meditations – known as their “Peace Out” and “Zen Den” practices – which promote mindfulness and relaxation. I love the idea of teaching children how to check in with themselves and create their own inner peace from an early age as those habits can definitely serve them well into adulthood. Themes include increasing confidence, spreading kindness, acknowledging emotions and so many more. Bonus: Jaime’s narration is super soothing which is a huge plus!
3 | It’s Totally Free
It’s awesome that an increasing number of establishments offer yoga for kids but in-person classes require payments + commutes so they may not be feasible for all families. With over 400 videos available on YouTube, kids can practice at home, anytime and at absolutely no cost to parents. High five to Cosmic Kids for making fun, wellness-focused activities super accessible to little ones!
Make sure to check out the Cosmic Kids Yoga YouTube channel to see all their amazing yoga adventures and let me know below which activities your kids are currently enjoying most! Namaste…
Side Note: Cosmic Kids has recently launched an app that provides unlimited access to stream and download all of their videos (current + future) with the ability to watch on a variety of devices. The price at the time of this post is $9.99/month or $64.99/year via the Apple app store with a two-week free trial. It’ll set you back more than a Disney+ subscription but I do love that the app means zero ads, a user-friendly interface and, as their website mentions, funding for continued FREE access to all of the videos on YouTube.
