Oh, Sunday. It’s basically the sunset of the weekend and a reminder that we’ll soon be returning to our regularly scheduled weekday program come Monday morning. With a small mountain of chores staring you in the face and a cozy bed calling your name, the struggle to get everything done while still enjoying the remainder of your weekend is REAL. If you often spend your Sundays counting down the hours until the workweek starts again, this post is for you as I’ve assembled seven things to do on a Sunday that will help you squeeze every last drop of awesome out of this, the last day before Monday, dreaded Monday. Here they are…
1 | Rise + Shine
As tempting as it is to sleep in, getting up early means you can make the most of your last day off before another week begins. Rest is beyond necessary of course, but there’s nothing worse than realizing you’ve slept through the majority of your free time. So, set the alarm – yes, even on a sleepy Sunday – so you can completely live it up and pack as many amazing activities as humanly possible into your day! Anti-Early Bird Pro Tip: Place the alarm of your choice several steps away from your bed so you’re forced to leave the bed to turn it off.
2 | Get To-Do’s Done Early
After you’ve successful dodged the temptation to hit the snooze button, it’s time to grab some breakfast and get to work! The Miracle Timer Cube that’s featured on my Christmas wishlist would make the perfect time-blocking companion to help get all your most important to-do’s done efficiently but the timer on your phone is fine too. Either way, work hard in the morning and take the afternoon off. You’ve earned it!
3 | Plan + Prioritize
Sunday is the perfect day to sit down and organize the week ahead. Whether you use a planner, a dry-erase calendar or a digital equivalent, take a moment to plan and prioritize your appointments, activities, tasks and to-do’s. While you’re in organizational mode, don’t forget to prep other things as well. If you’re a parent, lay out your little one’s clothes for the week. If you’re a blogger, schedule some social media posts or blog content. If you’re a working woman (or man!), make a mental outline of what you’d like to accomplish. You get the idea!
4 | Put Something in the Post
Sunday’s relaxed and lazy vibes set the perfect tone for penning a letter to someone you love. Grab a cuppa or an afternoon coffee as well as a few of your favorite pens, find a quiet space indoors or out and engage in the all but lost art of sending snail mail. The cards shown above are from the Happy Mail subscription from A Beautiful Mess/Oui Fresh which is set to make a comeback in 2018. Join the waiting list here, if you’re a stationery lover like me!!
5 | Recommit to Your Goals
I don’t know about you but I tend to forget most of my grandest plans (aka my longterm goals) as the demands of the week ahead loom over me. If you suffer the same, set aside some time each Sunday to think about not only what you want but why you want it as connecting with your “why” is the ultimate motivation when it comes to surviving the slow-and-not-so-steady journey to success.
6 | Explore the Great Outdoors
As Sunday can safely boast itself as the day of the week with the least hustle and bustle, it’s the perfect day to venture outside. Our lives are pretty much packed full of busy moments, work emails, social media notifications and/or the demands of little people who depend on us to orchestrate most of their waking hours (aka #momlife) so it’s important to connect with the kind of quiet that only exists out of the house, in the nature. Whether it’s a walk around the block or a trek to your favorite hiking spot, today is the day to do it! And, of course, photograph it for Insta…
7 | Perform Some Self-Care
Finally, as Sunday comes to a close, set aside some time to pamper yourself in preparation for the week ahead. This can be something as simple as a hot bath and a face mask (I love this one and this one) or as elaborate as a manicure, meal and movie combo but whatever you do, take a moment to focus on you. Upon waking on Monday morning, you’ll most likely be catering to many other needs above your own so PLEASE make yourself a priority during the last hours of your precious weekend!!
That’s my list of seven Sunday-worthy tasks! Help me add to it by dropping your suggestions in the comments below!! Also, if you manage to do all these things, go ahead and squeeze a quick nap in as well! xx

What a great list and outlook. Planning and prioritizing are so important, I have my lazy days but getting stuff done and organized really makes you feel accomplished. This was so motivating!

Thank you!! Same here with the lazy days and doesn’t it? I always feel more stressed after “resting” because I know nothing got done for the day. The best days are always the ones when I push through and end up exhausted but feel like superwoman. I also sleep better on those days. Lol!
